Casares forms part of the province of Malaga, located near the town of Manilva in the western region of the Costa del Sol. The area has a sub-tropical Mediterranean climate, with relatively warm winters and hot, dry summers. Temperatures average 32 ºC during the summer months.

This historic village of Casares will give you an authentic Andalusian experience, nestled on a hillside with its gleaming white bungalows and skinny cobbled streets. It has a population of just over 6,000 and unlike some other parts of southern Spain, Casares remains very much open for business all-year-round due to its high proportion of permanent residents. The Mediterranean ports of Sotogrande, Estepona and La Duquesa are all within a short drive. The history goes back a couple of thousand years when the Phoenicians arrived and settled here. Centuries later, the Romans and the Arabs arrived and left traces of their own history and legacy in this land. The foundation of the city was in the 12th century when the Moors arrived and built their castle on the hill. In a few decades, the place developed as a town. The history of Casares was glorified on July 5, 1885, when Blas Infante Perez was born in this beautiful town. Well-known writer, labour lawyer, and politician. In 1978, the government of Spain officially announced that the historical monuments of Casares would be national heritage. Since then, the town attracts thousands of tourists and homebuyers attention from all over the world.
